Day 1(5/15): College of Dupage, Glen Ellyn, IL.
Early early start. Everyone arrived around 6am. Chase mode out the gate with targets in SW NE. I was excited about this trip, with hopes of see a tornado in a clear view. I got that and more:)
After, 20 minutes it finally reveal itself about 1.5 miles away. Kinda hard to see the tornado. I had to enhance the photo quiet bit. Yeehaw! after 4 trips, I was finally able to experience a tornodo up close. What a incredible and eerie experience!!
Emily was toasting marshmallows, while Jared I watched on, thinking how great a chocolate would taste with these marshmallows. Too bad he left his wallet in the hotel room back in Wichita Falls. He couldn't splurge money on chocolates with $100 loan from Victor.
Thought we were home free till hitting this patch. Our van almost washed away by the current on the road. Luckily, Ryan was able to pull back just in time. We no choice but wait at this spot to figure things out, as the rain kept pouring down without any signs of letting up. We waited in the van anxiously for about half hour watched water level slowly rose...
Luckily, a couple brave people drove their truck through to create wakes for rest of us to follow. According to report, 4 more feet of water fell after we left. That was one of most anxiously moments in my life. Make me realize flash flood is not something to joke about.
